PorchFest in Moores Park update

Our first ever, PorchFest event is quickly approaching! In just three short weeks the neighborhood will be rocking as local musicians share their talent with us. We had a great planning meeting last week and are working to bring it all together. Your help is still needed! If you’re able to contribute to making this a fun, creative, musical showcase of our neighborhood, please get in touch!

Neighbors Needed To:

  • print and distribute flyers
  • coordinate the children’s parade
  • contact food truck vendors
  • distribute yard signs
  • be neighborhood ambassadors
  • be ‘sound’ people
  • design the music lineup

It’s going to be a great event and we are really excited to be hosting this for the neighborhood. There are two more Porch Host slots that we’d like to fill with houses on MRD near the park or Davis Ave. If you’re in this area of the neighborhood and would like to host, let me know!

A couple other things that may be of interest: City Hall on the Road is this Wednesday, Aug. 31st at the S. Washington Complex, Art Attack is on Saturday, Sept. 10th in REO Town, the Ingham Conservation District is hosting a river cleanup, also on Saturday, Sept. 10th that will start at City Market and REACH Studio Art Center has an amazing lineup of fall art classes starting soon. Check out some of these other fun events and support our local businesses and community organizations!

Happy Back to School!
