UPDATE: UPDATE: Moores Park Pool Opens June 17

Due to necessary maintenance, the pool will now open on June 17.

It is FREE admission and has open swim from 1-4pm and 5-8pm seven days a week, beginning June 17 and running until August 19. It is open to resident and non-residents of Lansing. There are showers and lockers available.  The YMCA is also staffing the pool again this year. Please be aware of the open swim rules posted here.

The pool phone is 517-371-2778 and you can call to check if it’s open during the listed hours.

It’s located in Moores Park, behind the old Moores Park Elementary School at 600 Moores Park Dr, Lansing, MI 48910.

Lifeguards Needed for the Moores Park Pool

The parks department has some great activities planned for Moores Park Pool, but they need lifeguards! Moores Park Pool is supposed to be open every day from 12-4pm and 5-7pm starting June 13th. Below is information from the parks and rec. website. Please pass along to anyone who may be interested, so we can help keep Moores Park Pool open!! If you would like to apply, here’s the details:

Must be able to swim and be at least 16 years old. American Redcross certification provided. Swim Instructors must have WSI certification. Locker Room Attendants must be at least 15 years old. Outdoor and Indoor Pools: Work June – August at our pools with testing, recertification and training beginning in May. Full or part time hours available. Rescheduled for June 24: Park Visioning #3: The Pool!

pool_name_platePark Visioning Series #3: Meet in the Moores Park Pavilion on Wednesday, June 24 at 6:30pm. (Due to severe weather, we’re going to reschedule the Moores Park Visioning meeting for Wednesday). We’ll start meet at the pavilion, same as before.We’ll cover the rest of the park including the Moores Park Pool!  This will help create a ‘wish list’ for a new Master Plan and talk about the future of the Pool. Come out and support you’re neighborhood assets!
