The St. Casimir/Moores Park Community Garden is open for the season! Are you a new gardener? – Reserve your space now. This is a plot garden with water on site. You plant by June 1 and clear by October 31. There is a community share space with Raspberries and Strawberries. Every five years the City of Lansing approves a Master Plan for Parks & Recreation. There is a proposed River Trail Extension from Moores Park to Grand River Park in this plan. Download a copy of the 5-yr Parks & Rec. Plan 2015 – 2020. The programs and the potential spending for capital improvements to the city park systems will be reviewed at two upcoming meetings: The first one will be at the Informational Committee of the Whole Meeting on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 pm in the Clerk’s Room at the South Washington Armory, 2500 S. Washington Avenue, City Clerk Election Unit (rear entrance) – and the second one will be a Public Hearing before City Council on Monday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m.
The next MPNO Meeting is on Wed., March 11, 6:30pm at St. Casimir Church. Our guest speaker will be Bob Perialas, Manager, Community Relations from the Lansing BWL. Mr. Perialas will cover updates and questions from neighbors on the BWL.
