Park Visioning Series #2: Meet in the Moores Park Pavilion at 6:30pm. We’ll cover the middle section of the park, walk it and assess its conditions. This is to create a ‘wish list’ for a new Master Plan. The first session was great – we covered the west end of the park and came up with lots of great ideas for improving the pavilion and fishing areas as well as where some basic maintenance needs to happen.
What a huge success – Thanks to the Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle (LUVS) for putting on an amazing show! And thanks to the Lansing Parks and Recreation department for giving Moores Park a chance to host. We’d also like to give a shout-out to those who were apart of this: Elm Street Recording, 517 Shirts, REACH Studio Art Center, Good Truckin’ Food, Clint’s Hot Dogs, Stella’s Crazy Good Caramel Corn, Lake Trust Credit Union, Historical Society of Greater Lansing, Mid-MEAC, Lindsay Gluf, our neighborhood volunteers (Andy, Katie, Shirley, Dave to name a few), everyone who came out to watch and support the concert, and of course, our President Natalie Molnar and Vice-President Amy Valleau! If you did not get a chance to make it, here are a few photos from the June 10 event:

Update: The Lansing Historical Society will be giving a talk on the Moores Park pool in conjunction with tonight’s (June 10) concert. Meet at the park pavilion at 6pm and learn about the history of this nearly 100 year old pool, the oldest of its kind still in operation!
Opening day of Moores Park Pool! The pool is now set to open on Friday, June 6. The pool is FREE to everyone, but you must register with emergency contacts prior to swimming. Children under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian sign their card. Summer Hours daily: 12:00 – 4:00 pm and 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Download the Moores Park Pool Open Swim Schedule ».
Come out and enjoy good food, art activities, great music and of course great company! Good Truckin’ Diner will be selling food, 517 Shirts will be selling MPNO shirts, and the REACH Art Studio will be providing an awesome craft for the kids. Parks staff will be on hand with swimming registration cards so you can fill those out while you’re here and the Lansing Historical Society will be providing a history tour of the pool at 6:15pm so be sure to check that out!
Please note, parking is very limited at the park. Walking or biking is strongly encouraged. Overflow parking will be provided at St. Casimir Catholic Parish on Barnes Ave, just a short walk from the park
