The St. Casimir/Moores Park Community Garden is open for the season! Are you a new gardener? – Reserve your space now. This is a plot garden with water on site. You plant by June 1 and clear by October 31. There is a community share space with Raspberries and Strawberries. Lansing City Council Committee of the Whole will be holding a special meeting on Thursday, March 19th for a presentation on the Parks & Recreation 5 Year Master Plan. Every five years the City of Lansing approves a Master Plan for Parks & Recreation. There is a proposed River Trail Extension from Moores Park to Grand River Park in this plan. Download a copy of the 5-yr Parks & Rec. Plan 2015 – 2020. The programs and the potential spending for capital improvements to the city park systems will be reviewed at two upcoming meetings: The first one will be at the Informational Committee of the Whole Meeting on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 pm in the Clerk’s Room at the South Washington Armory, 2500 S. Washington Avenue, City Clerk Election Unit (rear entrance) – and the second one will be a Public Hearing before City Council on Monday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m.
