Remembrance of Dorothy Dorch Jones on April 7

We wanted our Moores Park neighbors and friends to know that Dorothy Jones passed away on February 11, 2018 at the age of 90. She was a long time Moores Park neighborhood resident and organization activist, contributor and volunteer. Her daughter, Shirley Murray will be hosting an afternoon remembrance at their home – 1720 Bradley on April 7th from 2-4pm.

Updates from the MPNO President

A couple of quick updates friends and neighbors from the president:

• As of this past Parks Board meeting the Moores Park pavilion is not budgeted for replacement this year. Please take the time to attend the Lansing Parks and Recreation Planned Projects Roundtable, tomorrow March 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at 600 W Maple St, Lansing, MI 48906 to ask that the pavilion be included in this years project list. The park and our neighborhood use the pavilion as a community center of activity year round and having it gone prevents everyone in the community from using the park to its fullest.

• MPNO has been awarded funds from the City of Lansing Love Your Block grant! In the coming weeks we’ll be revising our scope to match the new budget and submitting a revised plan and schedule soon so stay tuned for upcoming polls and updates!

March 14 Meeting

Join us for the MPNO March meeting next Wednesday, March 14 at St. Casimir, Rm 108 starting at 6:30pm! We’ll be covering our events for the year, talk about the grants we applied for, we’ll be accepting nominations for 2018-19 officers & more.

Also, we’re still looking for a few more volunteers to help with the Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, March 24 at 10:30am. Hope to see you there!

The MPNO has submitted applications for through two grant programs.
